It’s interesting that the majority of them switch for “opportunism”.

Direct Quotes: Plus, if we want to talk about opportunistic, how about someone like Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama?  Elected twice to the Senate as a conservative Democrat, Shelby switched to the Republican Party on Nov. 9, 1994 -- exactly one day after the GOP won control of Congress.  By switching, Shelby remained in the majority.  That is opportunistic. He won re-election as a Democrat in 1992 with 65 percent of the vote, and won two more terms as a Republican, with 63 percent in 1998 and 68 percent in 2004. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, a Democrat from Colorado, switched to the GOP on March 3, 1995, shortly after the Republicans took control of the Senate.  Campbell was probably too independent for either party's taste but that didn't hurt him at the polls.  In 1998, hi...

Trump will you please investigate the origins of Covid?

https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/02/12/966306301/can-frozen-food-spread-the-coronavirus Trump will you please investigate the origins of Covid? Why did we put so much trust in the WHO and NIH? Why didn’t they just come out and say they didn’t know, instead of making educated guesses? People died, churches were closed down, kids missed school, do we even know if it will happen again? I still see people at my local grocery store double masked & plastic gloves. Direct Quotes At a news conference this week, the World Health Organization made a surprising statement: The coronavirus could possibly transmit on frozen packages of food. Embarek went on to say that scientists need to investigate further this possible route of transmission – and that frozen meat, perhaps frozen wild meat, could have sparked an early outbreak of COVID-19 last year at the Huanan Seafood market in Wuhan. In particular, an outbreak in Beijing last summer centered around a massive wholesale mar...

Now this is pure TDS!

https://www.npr.org/about-npr/1211780323/introducing-trump-s-trials-a-new-podcast-from-npr Now this is pure TDS! NPR comes up with a new podcast called Trump’s Trials. I would love to hear NPR’s UpFirst mention Devon Archer or the Hur report. What about a podcast of Hunter? You can explain how he made millions while addicted to drugs. NPR even admits their agenda here, if Trump is locked up then the campaign trail does not matter. I can only handle so many NPR podcasts in one day but UpFirst has not discussed any of the scandals/rumors about Fani Willis or Letitia James. I wonder if this one has. Direct Quotes: Trump's Trials, a new podcast examining the inquiries, trials and criminal probes facing former President Donald Trump. Trump's Trials is another source for those who want the kind of analysis listeners have come to expect from the NPR podcast portfolio, including The NPR Politics Podcast, Consider This and Up First. What happens in these courtrooms next year will argu...

Ableism!

Up First briefing: McConnell freezes again; Johannesburg fire, Idalia aftermath Concerns rise for Mitch McConnell after he froze at another press conference. Flood risks remain after Idalia swept the Southeast. A fire in NPR Ableism! I’m assuming you will also be providing and update on Joe Biden’s cognitive decline? I’m guessing we will get that tomorrow or over the weekend? You sound a lot like Trump, he also mocked an individual with a disability on live television.  Joe’s confusion, command of the English language, falls and shaking hands of individuals not there, has been strangely omitted in your reporting, would be happy to catch you guys up on that topic (where’s Jackie)! NPR has forfeited their right to talk about health after misinformation on Covid, the propping up of Joe Biden and ramming Fetterman down our throats. How can disabled people feel represented, if we don’t have disabled people in office (was what I was told during the 2022 election)? I would also encourage ...

Questioning the circumstances about Jeffery Epstein’s “suicide”, is extreme “conspiratorial thinking”?

The viral song 'Rich Men North of Richmond' made its way to the RNC debate stage The breakout song by an artist who goes by Oliver Anthony laid the groundwork to open the first Republican presidential debate for the 2024 NPR Questioning the circumstances about Jeffery Epstein’s “suicide”, is extreme “conspiratorial thinking”? You can’t find it suspicious that an individual on suicide watch, completes suicide? Upfirst did not do a lot of reporting on Epstein, so what other conclusions is their audience suppose to come too? It’s also a drastic leap to hear that line, connect it to Epstein and then say “it’s a conspiracy about his death”. The song talks about Rich men, where there a lot of poor people going to Epstein’s Island? If you really cared about “cultural artifacts” broadening the reach of “extremist spheres” onto unsuspecting audiences you would have spoken out against all of the profanity, violence and sexual content in other songs and movies that is much more available,...

Rough Translation: May We Have This Dance? : Up First Lindy Hop is a Black dance born in Harlem in the 1920s. In the past decades it has been adopted by several dance communities around the worl NPR Tomorrow we will break down this Episode. Instead of telling a beautiful story of a beautiful dance and unity, they use it to sow division and racism. Thank you so much LaTasha Barnes for your service to this county, you severed in the military and the Obama White House. I think you are a wonderful, talented and beautiful dancer and truly worthy of every single award you have won and more. You reached the pinnacle of many American’s dream by hard work and you should be proud of yourself. May we all be privileged enough to walk away from our jobs and follow our true dream and talent. It’s a shame they used this amazing story to “berate” people for the color of their skin, make no attempt to find unity, tell masters of the dance that they are carrying on a tradition but not their tradition an...

The author states that there is no way around using a racial slur in this, I strongly disagree, I can do it.

https://www.npr.org/sections/codeswitch/2013/09/06/219737467/who-can-use-the-n-word-thats-the-wrong-question   The author states that there is no way around using a racial slur in this, I strongly disagree, I can do it. I agree with the article as well, it is the wrong question. The correct question is why do the Bidens, Democrats and most celebrities get a pass? Direct Quotes: The story gained national attention because of what Carmona was heard saying on a recording Johnson made to document the abuse at the office. "I'm gonna give it to you hard-core," Carmona was heard saying on the recording. "You and her are very bright ... but y'all act like [N-word] ... seriously." "The case against Rob Carmona and the employment agency he founded, STRIVE East Harlem, hinged on the what some see as a complex double standard surrounding the word: It's a degrading slur when uttered by whites but can be used at times with impunity among blacks." As we saw t...
