 Both Jairus and the women, 2 opposite people, meet at the feet of Jesus and trusted Christ and he meet their need. 1 was a leading Jewish man; the other was an anonymous woman. He was a synagogue leader, while her bleeding did not allow her to enter it. He pleaded for this daughter, the woman sought healing of her own. At least 4 of Jesus disciples were fishermen. Why would Jesus call so many people from one profession? Fishermen are consumed with their work they are either sorting/cleaning their catch, preparing for a catch or mending their equipment, this includes the boat. Fishing is also slightly dangerous with the possibility of drowning due to storms or equipment being cast out. Jesus picked men who he knew would be busy and brave.
