To compare Lia Thomas to Jackie Robinson is a sin

To compare Lia Thomas to Jackie Robinson is a sin and should cause outrage in the African American community. I’m continuously told by liberal Larrys and Lindas that as a male, I’m privileged, I should never tell a woman what to do with her body and I’ll never understand the pain and how uncomfortable it is to menstruate or child birth is and most significantly the world treats me different because of my anatomy. Yet none of these privileges ably to transgender individuals who were born male?

Does this article infer that sports should not be segregated by biology? I don’t completely agree but forcing sports to integrate for all sexes would solve the current problem and defiantly treat everyone as equals. I’m just a male but I think that would significantly put women at a disadvantage but that does not matter a long as the trans community feels more included. What about women who fell this is unfair? Will you listen to them? Do their opinions or voices matter? Does it have to be an overwhelming majority? Women, a group of underprivileged individuals that the left claims to have a monopoly of compassion for, do they benefit from having biological men compete with them in sports? Why do we ban steroids and other performance enhancing drugs from sports? Does this give those people an unfair advantage? Is it a privilege to go through puberty as a male? Why do we have different weight classes in combat sports? Is it to protect smaller individuals? Do “menstruating individuals” have a disadvantage to those who don’t?

The difference in pay in my opinion is a completely different and totally legitimate claim. Pay should have many factors including success, viewership and revenue of the team or players.

It’s a shame. The Lord gave us such a beautiful gift. The first commandment given by the lord was be fruitful and multiply. The world has taken this gift smashed it, broken it, changed it and returned it to us saying “now it’s better”. Men are not superior to women in any way. Through evolution and the Lord’s creation we are just different. I believe God made a prototype named is Adam, spotted all the errors and then perfected his creation when he created Eve.

There may be a “lack of scientific evidence” that does not show a direct link between testosterone and athletic performance. Then please compare the NBA vs. WNBA, the NHL vs. The Premier Hockey Federation and all women’s college sports vs. men’s sports. Are you able to “scientifically” disprove the striking differences, in scores, times, games played and records set by women in their specific leagues compared to men?

I’ll admit I’m wrong when an individual born with female biology is successful in men’s sport.

Direct Quote:

On Saturday, University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas placed last in the 100-yard freestyle swim during the NCAA championships, ending her career in collegiate swimming.

For anyone who cares about the advancement of sports, and women's sports in particular, her win should be celebrated.

Women's sports are situated at a paradoxical intersection wherein sex segregation is upheld through claims of biological difference, yet equality is prefaced on being treated the same and given the same opportunities as men. Ifwe are to change this, we need to ask some important questions. How does one advocate for equitable treatment while also adhering to the notion of biological difference? If separate is not equal in the case of schools, bathrooms, restaurants or other social institutions, can separate ever truly be equal in the case of sports? Would gender-based discrimination in sports be eradicated if sports were gender-integrated?

The NCAA approved its first policy on the inclusion of trans athletes in collegiate athletics in 2011. The policy allowed "trans female" student-athletes to compete on a women's team if they had been treated with testosterone-suppression medication for at least one year.

Those who oppose the inclusion of trans women in women's sports argue that trans women have an unfair competitive advantage and that as a result they will take away opportunities from cis gender athletes. According to the NCAA, these assumptions are not well founded. Moreover, there is a lack of scientific evidence that conclusively demonstrates a direct link between testosterone and athletic performance.

Athletic performance is influenced by a number of factors, including hormones, but also other things like coaching and training, psychological makeup of an athlete, access to resources and equipment, among others. Attempts to ban or limit the participation of trans athletes are not based on science.

The presumed physical inferiority of girls and women historically has justified, legitimated and excused the unequal treatment of female athletes.

There remains though a cultural investment in celebrating sports' "firsts," whether that be Robinson as the first Black MLB player, the first openly gay active player in the NBA, the first non binary U.S. athlete to participate in the Winter Olympics or the first woman to score in a Power Five college football game. Many of the athletes who become the "first" encounter resistance, backlash and opposition, especially from those who have historically benefited from the status quo in sports.

Part of what makes the "first" stories so compelling is the resilience, determination and love for the sport exhibited by these athletes and their motivation to break down barriers, despite the naysayers. Thomas, as the first transgender athlete to win a Division I NCAA championship, deserves to be placed among the other firsts. She should be embraced in the history of progress that sports represent and recognized as the trailblazer that she is.

I hope none of it has ever leaked in her bag.

Joe Biden should take the same test.
