It’s difficult to understand why any police officer would back Wes Moore. He made money off a book, where he compared his life to that of a convicted murder of an on duty police officer, supported the reallocation of police funds, while holding them responsible for systematic racism AND according to the slain officer’s family, they did not support the writing of his book and “directed no donations”. “I had a chance to speak with many members of the Prothero family and I have received some great feedback from members of the Prothero family who read the book,” Moore said. “I’ve always said, an endorsement from their family is the greatest endorsement I could ever receive. There are some members of the family who have not read the book and said they won’t read the book. I respect that.”

“There are actually signi cant amount of the proceeds going to a nonprofit called Dream Academy, which supports kids of those incarcerated. The other is an organization called City Year, which helps to support young people and teaches them about the importance of community service,” Moore said. “I’ve actually reached out to the family about that, and it was actually their choice that it goes to these organizations.”
