A brief PubMed article from Mar of 2022 that shows roughly 82% of transgenders have contemplated suicide. About 40% have attempted suicide but in transgender youth is significantly higher. The attempted suicide rate is the lowest out of all the articles and studies I have read.

My continued question will be, brave and beautiful or a mental illness? Should we encourage anyone to seek mental help before making any life altering decisions INCLUDING suicide? Most studies show that this suicide rate does not change even after “coming out” socially, HRT or bottom surgery.
