We may want to question the reasoning behind some foreign government’s desire to meet with the all men, non-inclusive leaders of the Taliban. Russia was one of the first countries to speak positively about the new Taliban government. Even Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia’s RT broadcaster tweeted “It’s as if [they were] fighting a snail for 20 years using a tank, and losing to this snail in the end, and then barely getting away on the tank,”. With an America first mindset you need to keep an eye out for hostile actors on the world stage.
