Mitt Romney & Donald Trump attempted to correct the course that the world was on when interacting with Russia. However, to liberal Larrys and Lindas it’s more environmentally friendly for countries to pump the oil in Russia then in their own country. At the time negative light was shown on these comments labeled as “provocative”, controversial, “invective” and foreign policies from the 80’s. Now the world wants no one buying Russian oil, they fear Putin’s unpredictability and wrath. I wonder what the people of Ukraine think about these comments today?

Germany and other NATO allies are dependent on Russian oil and by buying it, and continuing to buy oil, fund Russia’s economy. Would that help with funding Russia’s military? If Russia dose not stop with Ukraine, then everyone must admit Trump was 100% correct in his principles of countries financial contributions and how they should increase within NATO.

President Donald Trump came out brawling in his first public comments here at the outset of NATO’s annual summit, accusing a close US ally of being “a captive of Russia,”

Trump’s provocative comments on Wednesday morning – particularly those aimed at Germany – set the tone for the first day of NATO’s annual summit, amplifying the sense of unease among the United States’ closest European allies and giving Trump a chance to once again shine a spotlight on uneven burden-sharing among the alliance’s members.

The invectives detracted from the summit’s goal of projecting unity in the face of Russian aggression, even as Trump and NATO leaders jointly agreed to bolster their defense and deterrence capabilities to head off Russian threats. Instead, Trump fueled a narrative of discord within the alliance

Trump leveled his sudden and unsparing criticism of Germany during a working breakfast with Stoltenberg at the outset of the day, pointing to German reliance on natural gas to accuse the country of being “totally controlled by” and “a captive of Russia.”

“It certainly doesn’t seem to make sense that they paid billions of dollars to Russia and we have to defend them against Russia,” Trump said, setting off an impromptu debate with Stoltenberg, who maintained that “despite these differences,” NATO allies “have always been able to unite around our core task to protect and defend each other.”

Trump rejected Stoltenberg’s reasoning, arguing Germany is merely “making Russia richer.”

“How can you be together when a country is getting its energy from the person you want protection against or from the group that you want protection against?” Trump said.

But even meeting the 2% threshold may not satisfy Trump, who on Wednesday also suggested privately to NATO leaders that they double that commitment by spending 4% of their GDP on defense.
